Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic Medicine is a system of primary health care that uses natural therapies to support and stimulate the body’s own self-healing process. The naturopathic doctor views the whole individual, and symptoms of disease are seen as warning signals of improper functioning of the body and unhealthy lifestyle habits.

Naturopathic doctors are trained as primary health care providers, with a minimum of 3 years of university pre-medicine studies and successful completion of an accredited 4 year naturopathic medical program. Standardized licensing exams are carried out throughout North America as a part of proper registration of the profession.

Naturopathic doctors can complement and enhance health care services provided by other health care professionals. They provide a truly integrative form of health care guided by the following principles:
*First do no harm
*Cooperate with the Healing Power of Nature
*Address the Fundamental Causes of Disease
*Teach the Principles of Healthy Living and Preventative Medicine
*Treat the Whole Person as an Individual
